Our Old School Shiraz Cabernet is grown in an old-fashioned, old-school way, popular in a bygone age.
Between every 8th row of Shiraz planted in our Moon Mountain vineyard is a row of Cabernet Sauvignon. The Cabernet ripens 3-4 weeks later than Shiraz making these grapes quite green and acidic when picked alongside the Shiraz.
When picking and crushing these two varieties together, the Cabernet naturally acidifies and balances the Shiraz, resulting in this unique style. The 2021 Old School Shiraz Cabernet dark currants, plums and blackberries, and an orchard of dried fruit characters. Tannins are fin and soft with fine acidity framing the wine. This wine is all about flavour and richness.
