This variety is a native of Piedmont in the North of Italy, well known for producing elegant white wines with powerful aromas of almonds and peaches. We call our Arneis, the “Little Rascal” as this is the literal translation of the name from the Piemontese, as it is a temperamental variety to grow.
This is the first Arneis for Thomas Allen and we source the fruit from the Tolson Vineyard near Broke. It is a delicate style, bottled just two weeks after vinification to retain its freshness and aromatic lightness.
It is a complex wine style, and displays aromatic notes of ripe pears, peaches and honey, which continues through to the palate. We feel the attributes of this wine are best appreciated when drinking in the first year of its release. Enjoy!
